Mike Seckler has served as a trusted advisor of K2 Biotechnology Ventures since March of 2021.
Prior to joining K2 Biotechnology Ventures Mike co-founded FerGene—a joint venture with $400mn investment from Blackstone and $170mn investment from Ferring. As Senior Vice President, he focused exclusively on Ferring’s highest value assets and prioritized the global development and U.S. commercialization of Adstiladrin – a novel gene therapy. Additionally, Mike spearheaded the company's daily business operations, leading and overseeing organization-wide strategies.
Mike served as CEO and General Manager Ferring Canada, where under his leadership he optimized and restructured the organization while simultaneously exceeding revenue and operating profit targets. During this time GlyPharma, a Montreal-based developer of innovative therapeutic medicines for short bowel syndrome and other rare gastrointestinal illnesses, appointed him to its board of directors in 2013. Then as Vice President of Global Marketing at Ferring International Center SA, he led and oversaw all commercial, digital marketing, and corporate communication strategies.
Mike’s professional trajectory spans years of critical experience—his biopharma career starting at Pfizer and then Schering-Plough. At the latter company, Mike held several leadership roles in marketing and sales as well as managed care positions in the fields of asthma, cardiology, and oncology.
Mike is a M.B.A. graduate from Pennsylvania State University with an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from the same university.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mike is an active community leader. Chairman of the Board for the Friends of Long Island Wrestling, an organization that provides integral support to amateur wrestlers. Mike lives in New Jersey and is an engaged member of the Warren NJ Township Lions Club. Mike enjoys giving back to his community and inspiring local philanthropy.
